Has anyone found a place were you can buy Machineist taps for the standard Humbucker screw? I have come across a few times that i could of done with a tap.... Most of the time i use a drill for a small hole in the metal and then force a spare humbucker screw into it so it taps the threads on it but i was wondering about getting the right tool for the job.....
I want to make little metal pickup holders for Gibson LP Deluxe pickups to thread into a custom guitar

I'm not sure if the screw is a 4-40, or a 6-32 thread pitch (at least on U.S. Models), but they shouldn't be too hard to find. I can prolly get you one if need be. PM me if you want.

Standard Humbucker Mounting screws are 3-48 thread (SD, DiMarzio and EMG). A tap for that should not be hard to find. screws on the otherhand, my specialty hardware dealer can't get them. AllParts have them tho...
I'll have a better look... the local hardware stores do not sell them but i bet a Machinist shop supply place should....
