I bought and had installed an SD 59 in the bridge position of my Yamaha Pacifica (Strat copy HSS). I didn't notice that it was a 59N. It sounds good, though -- my plan was to warm up the guitar and it seems to have worked.
Is this set-up a huge mistake that I should get corrected?
Thanks

Its Not a Mistake at all. If you dig the tone thats what matters. I had a 59' neck in the Bridge of a Jaguar for a very long time and totally loved the tone.
The only problem that you may have is the fact that the Poles won't line up properly underthe strings. Which really isn't a Big deal at all. Any string to string volume differences can normally be evened out with the adjustable poles.
so I say, Enjoy.

I've got a 59'(n) in the bridge of my Les Paul right now. I really like the tone...thru my amp. I played it thru Odie's JCM 900, and it really sounded dark, but it was perfect in my JCM 800.
I like the fact that it's not quite as hot as the bridge 59', and I think it's overall slightly warmer. Makes a great match with the APH(n).
There's no rules. Jolly tried a Jazz Bridge in the neck position, and swears it's better than a Jazz N or 59 N. I still need to get around to trying that, because I have a feeling that a Jazz bridge, split, in the neck might sound just like a Strat's neck pickup.
