I've been meaning to post some pictures of these for yall, but I never got around to taking any pictures until today. I've had the Explorer for about a month and a half or two, and the Les Paul Classic Premium Plus for about three weeks or so. I absolutely love them both. The Explorer has the stock 500T/496R pickups in them. They will be coming out and be replaced with a set of gold covered 59's. I think they'll sound great in that guitar. The Premium Plus has a JB in the bridge. I've never personally gotten along with the JB, but it actually sounds pretty damn good in this guitar. I'm not exactly sure what's in the neck. Whatever it is, I don't really care for it. It doesn't have much clarity. I really like the way the reverse zebras look in it with the black up top going along with the ebony portion of the burst on the guitar. I'm not sure, but I may throw a set of nickel covered pickups in it. I still need to put my UGD nickel covered 10k antiquity in something. I think it and a Seth would work out pretty good in this one. Anyways, here's some pics of the two newest members of the Jolly/Gibson family along with the whole clan.
I take it you are a Gibson man?
A schweet collection, gives my eyes some pleasurable resting points..
thats the LP Jeff bought u right?
the explorers really nice. do u play it standing more or sitting?
Jolly, where's the rest of the family?!
Nice guitars, Jolly! That Premium Plus is a beauty!

Well, I wouldn't exactly say he quot;boughtquot; it for me. I paid for it. I knew I wanted it, he was at home around his computer, I called him, he logged in for me, and hit buy it now. I play it sitting. It's really comfortable to play sitting down.
Thanks martin.
fire guy....that's all the Gibsons. There's no way in hell I could get a group shot of all my guitars. At least I don't think I could.
Yes Breaking...I am I'm jonesing for a Firebird and a doubleneck in alpine white now.
very nice jolly. the top on the LP is killer and the zebras look great! for the explorer i'd put some gold covered PUs in it as you plan to and change the guard to black. that would look killer!

AAHH such a fertile family you have Jolly! The newest members are definately fine heritage!
Jim
Jolly you deserve a Gibson endorsment.

1 (for every Gibson he has)
I hope you use mild polishes, Jolly, I know I'd be flying low with a high velocity if I used my GHS polish with a collection like that..

do you ask everyone that?
Very nice Jolly!
Tell me, do you have the LPs tuned differently amp; out of all your guitars, which do you find you play the most?....which one gets the least play?

They're all in standard 440 or in Drop D for the most part. Occasionally I'll grab one of them and do some kind of crazy open tuning or something. Of all of my guitars I play the amber Les Paul Classic Plus the most. I also play the cherry SG Junior quite a bit as well. I don't really know how to answer quot;which one gets the least play?quot; It's rather sad, I have quite a few that never get played at all. I really really need to sell off my Epiphone Les Pauls and give them a good home to someone that will take care of them and play them.

I remember years ago when I decided to drop out of college after two years. My mother looked at me and said quot;well son, the world needs a ditch digger tooquot;. Little did I know two things at that time.....those words would turn out to be prophetic and the job pays so damn good.
That Les Paul is a nice looking mother f-er Jolly....
One of the coolest looking Les Pauls I have ever seen!
that LP has a great top... are those SGs old?
That Les Paul Is Perfect!!!! Absolutely Perfect Man!!!
That LP is the guitar that Jeff H bid on and won for you, and it's a stunning LP!!!
I remember when I talked to you on the phone, I told you that the reverse zebras are the absolute perfect pickups for that guitar. Looking at the pictures, it's unanimous, you MUST keep reverse zebras in that guitar!!! Put a reverse zebra Jazz neck in it, and you're done!
