I'm working on paint ideas for the Warmoth SG. You guys generally like to see flames on a guitar with the base of the flames at the neck (a la Wattage's tele and TC's recently finished Tele) or with the base of the flames below the bridge?
I prefer them with the base of the flame at the neck. Looks better when you play it.

1, then you can say quot;my solo made my guitar start on fire, cause it was HOT!!!quot; lol. and i dont like my flames backwards.
Warmoth used to do this and I'm pissed they don't anymore cause I was going to use it on my warmoth strat:
1 again.
NONONO.... 1 to flames coming from neck. Xeromus just beat me.

That is very cool when the guitar is standing!
But I still prefer them the other way around.
It may be ok if the flames come from the bottom right, so it come from the bottom when you are standing.
anyone recognize this?

That's cool how the flames kind of work with the horns... I've been trying to incorporate that into the design... that may work. My flames are likely going to be a bit more of the old school style; fatter and not as wispy.
Mike...i'll send you a PM with a pic of an SG i plan on building and i'm sure you'll drool! let me upload the pick and PM it...it's top secret so shhhh hahaha.

Nite_Maresz_25 and SpeedDemon right on dudes!
i like the design of that axe. the flames. i think it looks better than James' latest sig,the Eclipse model. ESP eclipses look good but not with that grey paint coat.
if only the grynch wasn't a barritone...man i love that guitar but have no real quot;needquot; for a barritone.

haahhaha. you read my mind. its kinda expensive too.
no...overpriced is the right term lol. i love most ESPs but i've seen those things on ebay at stupid prices now...just like the KH Ouija.

For me it depends on the end graphic,I did an Lp copy with a single thick flame that faded from black to red,(I followed the top contour so the flame would fade as the guitar turned),from neck to bridge.
But I also did a white strat going from bridge to neck, but that one had 3 layers and going from neck to bridge would have made the graphic looked cluttered.
Your guitar's mother is so stupid it takes her an hour to...
Oh... I'm sorry, you meant the PHYSICAL directions of the flames ON the guitar, not AT it.
