$99 tax and shipping - same as a stock pickup. But I had to wait 3 months for it to get built. I guess it was a real pain for some reason and the founder of EMG even had his hand in the project. And EMG sent me some free swag direct for taking so long. Pretty cool experience with that company I'd say. That's like having Seymour build you a custom shop pickup for the price of a production pickup, and then sending free swag for taking so long. Very nice indeed.

EMG, unfortunately, doesn't have a custom shop anymore .That guitar looks goddamn immaculate, though! How's it sound through the 5150??

They did as of 4 months ago. Maybe not advertised as such, but I requested a custom built pickup through a dealer, the dealer asked EMG, and EMG said sure. I figure that's about as custom shop as one can get

I love McCarties, and yours is as modded out as I've seen. I was just playing one of mine tonight, and realizing what exceptional guitars McCarties are......which is the same thing I think everytime I play it.

My only question is quot;how in the hell can you sell your killer LP Custom?quot; I'd love to buy it, but it's not in the cards. I love my 3 pup model. That Custom you have is a keeper!

The Sperzels are not a direct replacement, the holes have to be reamed and the screw hole from the old tuners is visible under the Sperzels.

The black 57 custom was cool, but I liked my 57 Goldtop better, and selling it made room for the McCarty project.

Looks really cool! The only thing I don't like about it are the tone/vol knobs. Otherwise it's A ! How do the EMGs sound? Like a real 81 and a real SLV? How much money do you have going in the guitar atm?

The 81 sounds just like an 81. The SLV is a little darker because real SLV's are made for use in a bolt-on maple 25.5quot; scale neck an alder body. This is a 25quot; scale mahogany set neck with a mahogany body, so its a bit darker.
