I have my eye on a new guitar and this place carries it. Anybody have any experience with this guitar store. It looks legit, but I want to get some testimonials before I commit to a purchase.
Thanks
Do you live in Vegas? If not, I have a co-worker returning from there in a day or two that could probably tell me something (he usually checks out all the music stores every time he goes there)
Nope RW James, I live in CT (looong ways away ). If your co-worker wouldn't mind, I'd love to hear what he thinks of the place. I'm ready to pull the trigger, but I know I should wait and see if there are any positive reviews.
i know they run a big ad in Vintage Guitar magazine......if that means anything to you

Yep, they definitely seem like they have a huge selection of quality vintage stuff, but then there are shops like Ed Romans in Las Vegas and it scares me
watcha buyin bro!?

I'm taking the money I got from my Grosh and I'm going to be replacing it with another telecaster (this one will be a little different and it seems to have all the features I've been looking for). I'm done with strats, so now I need to expand on my telecaster collection

I just asked my co-worker about Cowtown - he's never heard of them - sorry...
But I would like to say he was surprised at your opnion of Ed Roman's. He would never buy a guitar there because he can't afford it - it is strictly high end custom guitars - but it is certainly a ligitomate music store.
There are a lot of music stores in Las Vegas because of the entertainment industry. There are a lot of things wrong with Las Vegas, but I wouldn't assume that just because a store is located there that they can't be trusted. I would contact them and ask some questions about the guitar or their business and go from there.
Sorry I can't help you more,
Rick

quot;Legitimatequot; or not, have you ever read his kooky diatribes on his page?
If you haven't- don't.

They're the best place to buy guitars here.
Nice dudes willing to haggle prices
Carry stuff other people don't (boutique amps/pedals). Not a huge selection, it's a small place, but pretty impressive.
AND! They keep their site updated!
Give them props for having a store for years and years and surviving even after Mars Music was built RIGHT NEXT DOOR to them (no joke, which they outlived), which is now Sam Ash.
There actually aren't alot of music stores here.
EDIT:
FOUND IT! from : localhost/cowtownguitars.com/itemtest2....iscitemtop.txt

You're right... I misspoke in my reply... I misunderstood what he had told me... he agreed that there aren't a lot of music stores in Vegas...
Funny thing is, he was in Sam Ash over the weekend and didn't see Cowtown... right next door? funny...

hah yeah it's tucked in to the little plaza whereas sam ash is a separate HUGE WHITE BUILDING totally blocking them off it can't be a coincidence.
Thank you so much RushOfBlood!!!! This is exactly what I wanted to hear, a mom and pops kind of store with genuinely good people. I won't be picking up an Anderson, but I have a very strong feeling I'm going to love the guitar I do end up ordering (not sure if it'll top the RI 0 Gibson for my main guitar, but we'll see).
Hmm... looks like I'll be giving them a call tomorrow and seeing about an overnight shipment
