I just got my Ranger Clone from buildyourownclone.com and one of the capacitors is missing. It's a 0.01uF (104k) metal film capacitor. Would I be able to find one at Radio Shack or a hardware store?
I'm not familiar with the ones they keep in stock, but I think that's a pretty standard size. You shouldn't have too much trouble finding one.
Be sure and let us know how it turns out when you get it finished.
how long did u have to wait before keith delivered? he says he's moving and stuff.
I remember seeing some 0.01 uf capacitors in Radio Shack two days ago when I was looking for the 0.047 ufs. However, I am surprised to find that 0.01 ufs are used in guitars. Can you tell me what it is for?
thats a fairly common value, i would be willing to bet that radio shack probably has it
they got em at the radio shack here =)
Thanks for your answers. My Dad found some at his work so I should be all set.
It took about aweek for it to ship and then about aweek to get to me, but thats also including the holiday weekend for the 4th of July.

I'm not shure yet what its suposed to be connected to. I only got to go aver the check list of what was supposed to come in the kit and glance at the directions.

1. this is an amp we´re talking about and not a guitar, isn´t it?? I was under the impression that these ranger-clones were like 18 w amps or something to that extent, or? ....
2. a 0.01 can also be used for treble-bypassing on the volume pot, so as to reduce the attenution of highs when rolling back the volume
The Ranger Clone is a treble booster. One end is going to the pot and the other is going to the foot switch.
Ah, a clone of the Dallas Rangemaster, or more recently known as the Diaz Texas Ranger. I get it now...
