Hi all
I'm after a simple 1 button amp footswtich to change channels on my marshall jubilee, but iw want one with an LED.
Anyone know who makes them, and why LEDs are not standard on footswitches?
Marshall makes one. As for why they're not standard, I'd guess that cost is the #1 reason.
I think Boss made one with a led on it. I might be wrong though. Anyone?
The reason most don't have LED's is because it takes DC voltage to bias(turn on) an LED. On most amps theres no DC on the footswitch jack.
thanks guys.
That marshall looks like just what i'm after.
dwvinky - is there any way i can check whether the LED would work on my marshall?

Put the multimeter across the shield and tip of the jack on the other end and see if you measure any DC voltage. Unless the amp originally had a footswitch that had an LED, chances are theres no voltage there. It usually requires using at least a stereo jack(3 contacts).
