Haven't owned a tele in years, the fender necks are just way to narrow for my paws and the 7 1/2 radius just didn't work for me. I played a Gamp;L ASAT Classic a few weeks back and loved it, it had the Gamp;L #4 neck which is shaped similar to the neck on my '57 reissue Lester, it felt great! I put my Legacy Deluxe up on ebay with the intention of selling it and buying a new ASAT Classic (no mention of a trade in the add), out of no where I got a trade offer from a local fellow for his mint ASAT Classic. This thing has the #4 neck and all the upgrades. The stock Gamp;L pickups were swapped out for a custom shop nocaster neck and texas special bridge (I never have like the Gamp;L pickups, they should contract with SD for all their pickups). I got to take it out and play it today, this little guitar kicks butt. Sounds awesome through my little 18 watt combo. How cool!!!
great axes
there was a similar one at the SD factory when I was there
I love that color. Is that a swamp ash body? My Asat Deluxe has the #1 neck; I'm sure the difference of the 1 5/8quot; vs. 1 11/16 helps out alot when played in the lower registers. Congrats...she's a beauty.
Gamp;L makes a great guitar, no two ways about it. I'm trying to figure out which model I should grab next.
NEW STUFF ROCKS!!!

Yep, it's swamp ash!
Very pretty! I love the look of the maple on that neck!
Oh my god, that thing is beautiful. Teles kick ass!

nice. I love the birdseye figuring on the maple neck. I've always wanted to get a Gamp;L Commanche but I'm afraid it will out do my favorite Fender Strat too much (which means the strat will just collect dust)

Dude, Gamp;L makes some awesome pickups! Their large single coil (Asat Special), and strat style (S-500) pickups sound amazing. The Z coil pickups offerd in the Comanche, and Asat Z-3, have great tone too. However, I'm not a huge fan of the Asat Classic pickups either. Cool guitar, and welcome to the Gamp;L owners club.
