i haven't been here in a WHILE but my band is finally coming together...we finally got a bassist and are working on gettingthe songs ready for recording within the next few months...but until then i am back to the really crappy quality recordings...but i think the songs sound a lot better. you guys have heard the songs by my band called Red Sea, and Take Me Now..i have posted them here before..but i am posting the new versions with bass in them..tell me what you think...if u remember what we sounded like before tell me how we've grown (or not grown for that matter)..i am really looking for some feedback so if you could tough it out through the crappy recordings and give me some thoughts i would be eternally greatful

I can spot some things off right away...
1) Your drummer needs to feel more comfortable, and you guys should quot;trustquot; your drummer a bit more... I feel that your drummer is following guitar rather than trying to be a metronome, so to speak...
2) Try to use more progression!
3) Nice vocals, good job. Nice riffs, solid.
4) Do yourselves a favor and get a mike or an experienced producer. You know, someone who can edit recordings and so on... in few simple steps you can get rid of the noise altogether.
5) I really like quot;Take Me Nowquot;, some unexpected progressions that I like.
6) who is the lead? just wondering, some things that I would like to say about the lead..., but other things first.
7) I think you may have too many quot;bridgesquot; in your songs, I think you are using bridges as a major way to change from sections to section... Well, maybe I am wrong, I sense a lot of quot;...And Justicequot;... with a death metal twist.Otherwise, so far so good! I am really impressed. But lead may need some work... I think these are more of quot;Kirk Hammetquot; leads that do not really give punch to songs.
Good luck with your band, and I hope you can keep your songwritings fresh until you guys come up with an EP.
cheers!
well i do play lead...i know that i am much more of a rhythm player...but you are right about the justice thing...that is my fav. album and it's def. the thickest root in my tree. We actually have about 8-9 songs done...u really hit the nail on the head with the drummer...our drummer has only had his set since this october-ish and had been playing on and off before that. he has never had a lesson and refuses to take any and has never worked with a metronome...he does kind of follow us, but at the same time we kinda follow him...it's hard to explain..my leads are pretty crappy in these songs..i jsut have issues with phrasing and writing solo's, i can learn them from other peoples song i mean i can do 90% of the solos in Overture 1928 and i can do A LOT of metallica solo's but i was never able to really write a good quot;metalquot; solo...softer stuff i can do..so i guess lets talk leads seeing as i am ur culprit for the main solo's in these songs...thanks for the response though...thats the 1st time i have ever heard quot;nice vocalsquot; lol oh and these were recorded through a digital camera so theres not much editing i can do
anyone else have some feedback?
I like Take me now but your bassist should try to play shorter, more staccato like notes imo... know what I mean?
thanks for the feedback guys i'll deff talk to my bassist and see what he things..but anyone else take a listen?
First thing is improving the recording quality. Definitely.
