What do you guys think...it's obviously not as tight a fit as a Tele neck. I know I'm probably just over anylizing this, but Is there much loss of resonance? I need a cheap Warmoth conversion neck in maple and i'm thinking of just buying a Strat neck from the showcase to save a few bucks. Tele conversion necks are few and far between in the showcase.

well the neck is screwed down -- not foward-- most necks hav a matchbook space all around them -- thats Fender spec's _ Toleraces)

But inorder for the pickups to hear more of the gutair -- you need to be able to hear yourself taliking thru the pickups.. if there over waxed your already cutting the % of natrual guitar resonance..etc..

But whatever...Anyways. A Strat neck in a tele, Causes No problems at all. The Only problems would be Cosmetic. Like there'de be a little space around the corners of the pocket, where the strat neck is rounded (instead of sqaured like a tele). But Luckly The warmoth conversion necks Have the Fingerboard overhang, So thats totally covered.
I actully used to have a warmoth conversion neck On my Tele for a long, long time. And I never had a single Problem with it. No tuneing hassles, and No tone issues either. So I really doubt you'de have any problems.

Wasn't I actully gonna Sell you a warmoth conversion neck a long time ago? But like we both ended up just getting snotty with eachother and the deal never happened? haha, Sorry bout that. I tend to be snotty. Are you STILL looking for one after all that time? Man, Now I feel bad about being a snotty prick back then. Haha, whoops.

But yeah, Anyways. You'll have no problems with a strat neck on a tele body, It works out just fine. I'de suggest getting a the Big CBS style headstock though, It just looks kooler on a tele body, to me anyways.

Thanks for the info. All I remember is a disasgreement on price...it happens from time to time, no harm as far as Iquot;m concerned. I'm just a cheap bastard.

bolt-on necks need a snug fit between the neck and neck pocket in order to resonate as one. lose that and you will lose the potential tonal ability of a guitar.
