Could you compare them please? Which is hotter? Which had more bass, mids or treble? Which did you prefer and/or keep?
I've tried both and they are very similar to each other. They both sound great clean and split. In fact the differences are very subtle. I prefer the Cool Rails for a couple of reasons. First, I like the look of the rails design. Second, it seemed to handle high gain a little better. The Little 59 seemed to be a bit weaker under heavy gain than the Cool Rails.
I've tried them both, and kept the Cool Rails also. In fact, bought two more for a complete set. But I loved the Lil 59 also. The only reason I didn't keep it is because I thought it did a good job of sounding like a full-sized 59, and I've already got a pair of those.
Oddly, I didn't think they sounded the same at all. To me, the Lil 59 had a warm, smooth character to it, while the Cool Rails had a definite punch to it that I love. They're both great pups, but I think the CR edges the 59 out for unique character and style.
Artie
Great comparison Artie. Hit it on the head.
I like both a lot. Artie's description was pretty good. I like the cool rails over the the lil '59. It has more of a clear, dynamic tone.
