We all know the wah-wah sound of a crying baby, but is there a wah-wah pedal that sounds like a cat? This is a serious question!

I have absolutely no idea!

If there is, Steve Vai was ostensibly using it at the start of Whitesnake's quot;Kitten's got clawsquot; (Slip of the Tongue)...

I know they aren't cheap, but you only have to buy it once......The Fulltone Clyde Deluxe. I'm not sure if it has the 'cat tone' you're looking for, but it has two rotary knobs on the side. One of them is a volume which clicks into position, using a rotary pot. The other is a knob that shifts the frequency from low/growl (Whacked), to Vox 'Jimi' tone, and the high frequency setting (Shaft) is best for chirpy funk riffs ala 70's cop shows. It also has an LED, showing you if it's on or not.

What about the quot;Black Cat Moanquot; Wah?

CryBabies can duplicate that if they're manipulated in a certain fashion. 30 years ago there weren't a whole lot of choices for wahs. And when I was in high school, I used a Morley Power Wah for the jazz band, and played a solo with one, someone came up to the director and asked who was making quot;those cat noises?quot;

The Bad Horsie seems to be pretty suited to doing those sorta weird sounds. I have one. It's not so great for funky rhythm stuff, but good for lead.

The Yamaha GW50 multi effects board comes with an auto-wah which do come closes with the quot;cat soundquot;
