Does anybody have any experience with the SD P90 Stacked pups? Do they still provide the necessary schnarl the P90's are famous for? Or do you lose something in the translation to noiseless?
Lew?????Thanks,
Louis

Thanks Jolly,
That review helped a bunch. I'm planning on putting them in a Mahagony Tele body so I'm already not going to get the Pure Les Paul sound from the get go. I'm just hoping to get the most out of my P90 rig.
I suppose I just need to ask myself, does the 60 cycle hum really bother me that much. In most cases I really don't have a problem with a little hum.
I certainly don't mind the hum enough to sacrifice any tonal quality.
I've never used P90's before so I don't know how often I would use the middle (Combined) position anyways. I currently almost never use it on my Tele, or strat, so I imagine the downside discussed in the review probably wont effect me that much anyways.
That said, I think i'm leaning towards either the Fralin Set Lew is selling, or the SD Vintage P90's. Non-Stack.
Any other suggestions are more than welcome.
Thanks again Jolly, and to everyone who has ever entertained my multitude of basic questions. I can only hope I have asked some questions other guitar technically challenged individuals can get some value from as well.
Thanks again,
Louis
You're welcome and good luck!!
I have one on order right now, lately the hum has just worn me down, especially playing at volume again. Lowkey it isn't an issue but most rooms I seem to get in are wired so poorly that it is a PITA. I use a Hush pedal just to be safe when I use my Special.
If the Stack wired in series doesn't get me what I want sound wise I will go back to the Custom P-90, if I used one that wasn't so hot I am sure the noise would be less of an issue.
