hey I figured this was the best place to bring my query after hours.
So here's the skinny
I got a Pickup Booster in March, new, from Guitar Center. It served me well for months but early last month it started cutting out when I would hit the switch. I've always kept it in it's original bubble wrap and box, so it gets the baby treatment. Never dropped, abused, or had anything weird get in or on it. I've cleaned it a few times with compressed air but disassembled nothing except taking off the case, which is mandatory to change the battery anyway (as you would know if you know the pedal). I've noticed if I run it through a distortion pedal -- as it goes PB -gt; Distortion -gt; amp in my effects chain -- that it does actually have a single, it's just faint and comes off like it's in a tin can when the distortion is active -- basically dead when I don't have it on.
also sometimes it seems that even when the PB is off I have signal problems when it is in my chain.
What on EARTH could be wrong with it? Again, it's never been mistreated at all and I can see inside and I've checked all the soldering and to my untrained eye it looks just fine...no cracks or severences or anything.
Some of the early models had faulty footswitchs. I've had mine replaced already. Contact SD service. I believe they're repairing these for free.
crap. I've just bought one of those! It hasn't switched off on me yet but now that I know, I'll keep an eye out for it.
