Just wondering. Maybe nobody here really knows (except Evan and he's very busy). Does a team come up with it? Seymour or MJ?
bump
That's a great question. Sometimes pickup ideas come from market research (Hot Rails). Sometimes from artists (Dimebucker). Sometimes from the custom shop (Five-Two Series). Sometimes from guitar manufacturers (Phat Cat / Hamer). Sometimes from quot;friends of the familyquot; (Tweak Fuzz). Sometimes from here (Custom 5).
If it's a good idea, we'll take develop it no matter where it comes from.
And who was responsible for this:(I swear to God . . . pic taken direct from the quot;Customquot; page.)
What the ... is that a pickup for a Chapman stick or something? Or did someone misinterpret the meaning of quot;12 string guitarquot;?
If the team from CSI: Santa Barbara analyzed that pickup, they'd find Seymour's DNA all over it...
Then it must be good.
You know . . . if you bought six of those, and layed them the long way . . . hmmm . . .
Is it just me, or does that thing have 13 polepieces?
Good call with the chapman stick guess, but don't those have specially designed pickups? Maybe a touch guitar (cross between a guitar and a stick)?
