I am strongly contemplating changing my Tyler Studio Elite, Mamayo body, maple neck, Psych vomit back to it's original specs...

I had the lead/rhythym circuit placed, mid-boost bypass, black pickup covers, tyler slant humbucker, and neck on button added about 8 months ago.....It has turned out to be too many switches for me...I guess different buttons for different folks.....This is my primary live guitar.....

Going back to white pickguard instead of white pearloid, white pickups, keeping mid boost bypass button and want to add my tone knob back....make it look and feel more like my 1962 strat reissue....

I want to find something that is more single coil sounding in the neck and middle than the seymour duncan classic stacks....Not glassy and stratty enough for my tastes...also...going to put the jb jr back in the bridge...Classic stacks are dark sounding except when in split mode in on mini toggles in lead/rhythym switches....Had volume knob changed to 500k to help with darkness...

Was thinking about fralin vintage hots or suhr v60 or Duncan Antiquity surfers for the neck and middle? Will they mate well with the JB jr.?

Thoughts? Anything noiseless that sounds like real single coil that also looks like tradtional single coil? Dimarzio?

Thanks,

Steve

Doesnt look like normal single coil but my choosing would be Cool Rails..from single size humbuckers..

A normal single size would be SSL-5 custom staggered...

I have JbJr in a TELE and the neck pup is STR-1 vintage TELE.. when i split the Jr , they fit together so good... especially middle switch gives a very good mixture..

Thanks for the feedback so far..

Here is what I have come up with:

White pickguard back in....Neck: Seyour Duncan Lil' 59, Middle: SSL-1 non rw/rp, Bridge: lil' Screamin demon, mid boost bypass button, volume, tone, 5 way switch and 3 way mini 12 pole switch, to do series/split/parallel with neck and bridge mini humbuckers depending on position of 5 way switch. Planning on placing switch between volume and tone knob...

I figured splitting the neck and bridge pickups will pretty strat like and offer me a lot of different sounds...

Both Duncan amp; Tyler are tweeking their new noiseless singles. If you're wanting an improvement over the Classic Stacks and want noiseless I'd wait till the new ones come out.

Twangbanger/2 Surfers for a killer traditional strat vibe with balls and tone.

Get an HSS white guard with a 59 or C-5 trem, along with a lil 59 Middle and JB Jr neck, all in white or black. You could also get a nickel covered humbucker with 2 white singles.

I only suggest the fullsize humbuckers because they always sound more natural to my ears than humbucking singles in the bridge position. I like'em for neck/middles though.

Thanks so far...I think I want to pick-up the Tyler/Duncan slant humbucker...Anyone know if it is alnico 2, 5 or ceramic?
Similar to other seymour duncan models?

Going to keep the classic stacks in neck and middle and slant the humbucker in the bridge. Anyone know if I can do this with conventional trembuckers? Will pole pieces line up? Thinking JB or screamin demon

Thanks,

Steve
