I was wondering if any of you guys could give me any ideas as to how to use its controls to give me a more Pantera like sound from CFH era, in conjunction with the amp's EQ... The pedal's 6 frequencies are: 100Hz, 200Hz, 400Hz, 800Hz, 1.6KHz, 3.2KHz
Not that I want to completely cop Dime's old sound, I just want to have a sound similar at best for doing Pantera covers and such with the band. Plus it will give me a good start to shape my own EQ preferences from.
Also, should I put the EQ in the FX loop?
Thanks
bump..... come on guys!!
....... does everyone hate me or something??? lol
yes
hmm well... not the response I was expecting but that's cool... at least someone's actually reading the thread...
But really does no one have any answers??
Make a smile on the eq.
/\ that's a good starting point.General EQ advice: Start with all of the settings at '0', or in the middle. Gradually lower any offending tones. For the most part, you do NOT want to add to frequencies unless absolutely necessary.
I was reading in a guitar mag a few years ago that dimebag used to use a \/\/ sort of shape with his EQ pedal . . . kind of like a traditional metal V but with one of the mid frequencies boosted for more meat in his sound . . . sorry I can't remember the exact freq. that he was talking about
there we go!! good idea to try that W looking shape.. thanks so far guys!
