No I don't shred, nor do I play much solos anyway, but I'm hopelessly stuck in the 80s and I love Strats with humbuckers, or neck through stratoid shapes I'm spending part of my money into some of the Stew Mac tools for my future tech shop (thinking about 10 years ahead but eh I gotta start early) and the rest may go to another guitar. The purpose of it is to get a guitar that's easily modeable, very playable (compound radius for low action preferable). Bridge doesn't matter, nor do the pickups to be honest (replaceable). It'd need to have decent quality woods (any is ok. I'm used to basswood and I love it so I could do with something different to try it out). It can be second hand (eh for that price it most likely will be). Bolt on, set or neck through don't matter as long as the sustain is decent. I'll set it all up myself (most likely new nut and maybe fretwork if I know how by then) so factory set up doesn't matter as much either. In fact not much matters but eh, I hope you get a decent picture
Right now I'm just opening my mind to suggestions. I have a truckload of ideas but I'm wondering what you guys can think that I didn't know about. It'd be to play anything from blues to very high gain stuff but again that'll depend on the pickups amps (seperate problem).

hey man, that single meeting with you gives me the impression that you would be very happy with a good ol quot;realquot; strat. a highway one or MIM strat is what you need. since you would be modding it anyway, you could drop your fav bucker in it. for that price you can even score a brand new H1 strat. i know it doesnt meet ur quot;superstratquot; criteria, but it looks like what u need. very playable and of course fully modifiable.

You know, weirdly enough... I hadn't even thought about it, and I think you're damn right haha! Well done dude! And since I know nothing about SD's single coils and SC size buckers, it'd be a perfect occasion. I'll go try one whenever I can! Cheers for the tip, I'm right over to the Fender website to check the specs.

*cough*usedcharvel*cough*get a model 3 and call it a day .. route it for neck bucker =)

For 600 Euro, you can probably get a Gordan Smith.

I have a model 1a and 4 already! hehe... I'd wish for something different, though a model 5 or 6 is definitely on my list and has been for a while.
Gordon Smith... Not a bad idea. I saw one of their SGs at a guitar shop here, it had the most beautiful piece of rosewood I had ever seen.

two words: Hamer Chapparal............if you can find one used that is.....keep an eye for the custom version...............set neck, mahogany body.........and if you can find one pre 87 it is 24.75 scale........I recently bought one for 600euros.......in the US i have seen them going for 400-700$...........Best superstrat i have ever played..much better than many Jacksons which cost 2 or 3 times that...............check my signature for a photo.

Hamers are the most underrated guitars on the market now, just picked these up for a ridiculous price
Hamer centaura and Hamer T-62

I've been on the lookout for those Hamers for a bit. Those pics sure look gorgeous! I'd rather order from Europe though and you barely ever see any But dang... That Centaura is beautiful. Is the Chapparal a standard Strat shape? It looks a bit different on this pic.

Pierre, I am not sure how much 5-600 Euro's is but, it may cover what I want for my Jackson USA JJ. PM me bro!! BTW, its listed in my signature!! I need to unlaod this thang!

600 euro is around 720$

It's not a Chapparal but a T62, Hamer made them from 92 till 95. You seldom see them. It's a 7/8 strat with some upgrades : Locking tuners , ABM trem, birdseye maple neck, rosewood fretboard, and a preamp, pups are SD Alnico II. Centaura's are eazier to find here in Europe, check out the German Ebay, the sometimes come up at reasonable prices. If you buy in the States be prepared to pay about 100$ shipping costs, 50 Euro's customs handling and 20 % taxes.
