I love my Squier. The neck feels very comfertable, the tuning stablility is great since I put locking tuners and a graphite nut on it, and the tone is amazing with SD pickups. It is probable the most verisital guitar I own.

What guitars in the $300 and lower price do you think have great playablity and tone after a pickup swap and other modifications? And what mods have you or would you make on it?

J. Reynolds strats. 99 bucks cant be beat, and after a few changes, they're friggin awesome.

MIM Tele. I bought mine in perfect shape from eBAy for under $300. Pickup swaps are a breeze, since it has the swimming-pool route. This picture shows a QP, but I ended up with an SD 54 Vintage Lead, stock Tex/Mex Strat, and SD vintage Mini-HB.I'd like to work on my peavey raptor, but I want to get to tele first, so that'll have to wait. It has THE thinnest poly finish i've ever experienced. You can hardly scrape it without taking off some of the finish and the paint.

Aria Pro II

I got so many budget guitars... I have a Squire, MIM Fenders, Epi's.... Parts guitars... I'm kind of famous at the local shop for buying body and neck parts and throwing together cheap guitars.. I also have a habit of picking up damaged guitars and fixing them up..... I own a few good guitars, American Fender strat and a American LP, a Warmoth, a few Jacksons, and a nice Godin... Other then that i mostly play around with cheap parts and make custom things..

The whole MIM line is very good, but I want a Squier '51 to b!tch out!!!

Very good axe for the price

MIM Tele , Lots of times you can find one that`s setup really good from the factory. They usually stay in tune really well. Swap out the pickups, saddles and tuners and you`ve got a pretty smokin axe!
