Hey dudes I'm back with a question. I was thinking I should get some strap locks for my main axe, but I don't know what brand/kind to get. What can you guys suggest?

schaller. that's it, nothing else!

Lol damn that was fast. Thanks!

Yep, Schallers for sure

MJ

Schallers!

Schaller bro.

Alright, Schaller it is then. Thanks guys, and good night.

I heard the dimarzios are pretty good too, but only thing is that you need to use their strap.

I used Dunlops for around 15 years. I had a few failures, which I always had chalked up to quot;user error.quot; After having a near miss with a really expensive guitar I started looking in to the whole mechanics of the deal between Dunlops and Schallers. There are too many issues that can go wrong with the Dunlops, either because of wear, breakage and possible accidentally undoing the mechanism. The only issue with the Schallers is to make sure you use nail polish or loc-tite or something like that on the threads on the strap end. The nut will work loose over time, no matter how hard you tighten it; a dab of clear nail polish or loc-tite will keep the nut from accidentally loosening and causing your guitar to crash onto the floor.

Ahh, the DiMarzio ClipLock® strap. It's the only strap I use...

I use DiMarzio - but that's only because I wanted the strap... but it seems to work well.

Starts with SCH and ends with ALLER!

Damn, I'm surprised nobody mentioned Schaller.

schaller

I love the DiMarzio Cliplocks as well, I have them on all of my electrics. Never a failure in 7-8 years.

Some great straplocks can be found at a supermarket that has a decent beer selection. Buy yourself a 4-pack of Grolsch...comes in a fancy bottle with a cool stopper thing in the top. Drive home (without drinking any beer). Have yourself a couple, and save the rubber gasket that seals the stopper on each bottle. Those gaskets will fit very snugly over the strap pins, and you'll be amazed at how much effort it takes to pull your strap off. Granted, I'm not doing cartwheels on stage, but these things work like a charm, without any mods to your geetar. There is no way my strap is going to come off on stage. For about 6 bucks, you get two sets! Don't laugh....try it and see for yourself

Schaller. I've got 2 sets and they've never failed me...

ive had schallers on all my guitars since 1998. never had an issue with any of them. not even the nuts working themselves loose. for that matter i never had an issue with dunlops either but i liked the look and design of schallers more.

Schllaer or for a bit of variety(abalone rings and so on) go for Q-Parts. mechanically they are the same as Schallers, they just look better. Ok, if you want abalone or pearl it's gonna more expensive but man the black pearl locks i have on my main strap look killer compared to the boring schallers

Shaller. The guitar will snap in two before they come off.
