Hey guys. I'm unsatisfied with the way the stock volume pot on my Les Paul Junior works. I would like it to retain a bit more high end as I turn the volume down. Can someone please recommend a cap brand/value that would help me accomplish this?
First try connecting your tone pot to the middle terminal of the volume pot...the terminal that feeds the output jack. You could actually just connect your tone pot to the output jack and get the same result: you'll get a little more highs but mostly you'll retain more highs when you turn down the volume. You might like a .02 Sprague Orange Drop cap but if your guitar already has a 02. cap you won't notice much diff between brands. Try the mod I suggested. Lew
2 things:
- I'm not looking for extra brightness in the sound of the guitar with the volume turned all the way up. I just want to keep more treble as the volume is turned down.
-Will the mod you suggested affect my tone control at all? I like it as it is right now.
