Hello Everybody,
I wanted to change my pickup set on my Fender Telecaster and I'm looking to Antiquity pickup. I like playing blues very much.
Could someone tell me difference between Antiquity I and II for Telecaster in order for me to make a choice.
Cheers
The Antiquity I recreates the tone of a '50s Tele.
The Antiquity II recreates the tone of '60s Tele.
The I's have more midrange presence, and the II's are going to be brighter. I use the Antiquity I in my MIM Tele, and I think its fantastic. You can check out the tone on my website with the songs that were done in Nashville with Martin Anderson.
I'd say Antiquity I for blues. I have the Antiquity I flatpole set in one Tele and an Antiquity I flatpole lead with an SM-3 mini-HB neck pickup in another. They are very dynamic and big sounding pickups. The neck pickup might be a little too warm and dark for some folks, but it's very sweet.
If you have a vintage fretboard radius, then you might consider the raised pole Ant I version, and if you're into classic country music you might consider that or the Ant II for brighter tones. But for bluses with a modern radius fretbd, it's tough to beat the Ant I flatpoles.

All the grit, dirt, and spank of the best tele you ever heard. Without chopping your head off!
I have the Ant I in my Melancon Tele...it rules...crank your amp and dig in, it is the most satisfying pup change I ever made. Compresses oh so slightly with hard attack. Glorius.
Thank you very much all for your answers,
Now I can make my choice and I think I will buy Antiquity I for blues sound.
good luck, my friend.
