OK, I just bought a 59TB for my Strat, so I'm thinking of changing the pots to 500k but which one?

Should I change all 3 pots, just the volume pot, or just the 2 tone pots? Is there any standard value with a H-S-S Strat?

I plan to put a Vintage Rail in the middle and a Cool Rail in the neck position later on.

if it were me leave all 250k pots in there for now, if the bridge sounds muted you can always raise it later. with brighter vintage style buckers in strats with single coils much of the time i find that the 250k helps balance things out a little. there is usually still a jump when you hit the bridge but its not as sharp.
does your strat have the bridge pup wired to the 2nd tone control?

I plan on wiring the bridge to the second tone pot, but it's not the case for now.

I think I'll do just that. Wait and see. The strat is brighter (alder/maple) and my Traynor amp is birighter (compared to marshall or mesa) so it may fit just right.

Thanks Jeremy!

I'd stick to 250k in this case as well, especially with the single coils in the other positions. If the 250 didn't work out there's always the 300k that Gibson uses on its PAF-like humbuckers; it's not that different from teh 250k, but it may let just enough treble in for the humbucker without making the SC pickups too bright.
