ok, so after next friday[Nov.25, my b-day] i will have enough $$$$ for a pickups change. im duncan designed detonators to either a dimebuck an x2n or a bill lawrence L-500 L or XL. i need to know exactly what to do when i change the pickups[help from my dad whos a profesional electrician]. so if anybody can tell me exactly what ill need to change and how to do it id really appreciate it.
Follow the wiring schematics provided with the pickups. The colour coding on the DDD's should be the same as on the Dimebucker. The X2N's colour coding will be
Green = Earth
Red = Output
Black gt; white
(Coil1 white = out, green = return; Coil2 red = out, black = return)
Basically, DiMarzio uses white where Seymour uses red, Black where Seymour uses white and red where Seymour uses black.
I think; feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...
Don't know about the colour coding of the Bill Lawrence, sorry.
Keep your soldering neat.
Use a maximum of 30w iron.
Don't overheat your connections; as soon as the solder runs, that's it!
Heat the workpiece, not the solder.
Keep your iron's tip clean and tinned.
look at guitarelectronics.com they have the color codes for almost all brands of pups
