I sent the folks @ StewMac a question about wiring 3 single-coils (see 4th diagram below) with this switch and was told all of the humbucking positions would be in parallel, not series?!? If that's true, are ALL the humbucking positions on the other configs (H-H, H-S-H, H-S-S) not series in humbucking mode as well?!?

BTW, any other quot;megaswitchquot; sources/sellers out there?

The info on StewMac about the Megaswitches sucks to say the least!

All the humbucker options for the model E call for the humbuckers 'coil tap', ie. the series link, meaning the humbuckers are truly in series. The other dual-coil positions(aamp;c, aamp;d, etc.) would seem to be in parallel. I would need to look at the traces in the switch to know what connetions are actually going on.

The 'Mega' switches are all designed to do very specific things, and if you want to do something outside the realm of what the switch was intended to do, your options quickly become limited.

If there is any advice I can give you guys about getting special switching from 5-way switches, it is this: Use SUPER SWITCHES. They can do anything the mega-switches can do and more. They are easier to wire, and they are straightforward.

I have been using Megaswitches for years now...I love them.

If you want position 2 and 4 to be hum cancelling reverse the wiring on the middle pickup. if you want the middle position to be hum cancelling reverse the wiring on the neck pickup (this will also mean position 2 is silent.

I'm confused -- if you're asking about the 4th diagram with the single coils, why the concern about humbuckers?

Positions 2, 3 amp; 4 are quot;humbuckingquot; or hum-cancelling.

I would like to get a switch that does this in series, because what I understand the quot;Equot; model Megaswitch does it parallel (think quack), and I want my strat in series (think growl).

I guess the super-switch could do it, although I hear it's not as reliable.

Another option would to get a stacked SC and wire the neck amp; middle SCs in series like a humbucker, then wire the Megaswitch for 2 humbuckers...

I just think that there should be a Megaswitch that does it in series straight-out though

Check out Stewmac's new megaswitch...much more durable looking construction. Now it looks more like an old strat switch or a rotary laid on it's side. The old one was a little PCB with traces for contacts and tiny solder lugs.
