so i was playing this ovation CC045 12 string when i was at the store the other day (along with a bunch of other 12 strings) and i just really loved the sound and feel of it. and it was only $500, which isnt that bad. has anybody had any experience with these, before i start saving for it?
the one at the store looked like this, but with a honeyburst finish
I have a 12 string custom Balladeer from about 1988. It's an amazing sounding guitar. I have nothing but good things to say about Ovation. My own experience is that there's not a lot of difference in playability between the low end and the top end. The difference in price is largely the trim on the instrument and the electronics. If you like the sound of the one you played, $500 isn't out of line for a 12 string.

awesome. cause i was wondering if i should save some more cash and look for the balladeer 12, but if the main difference is cosmetics and electronics (neither of which im that concerned with) then thats great, ill go with the celebrity 12

I hear ya. The 12 string that I bought just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I don't use it for much except for recording (and I like micing them there) and campfire type stuff, so I don't need electronics. My main 6 string Ovation is the same way. I bought it to beat the crap out of it. Ovations will take a LOT of abuse.

thats good news too, i need durability. next year im living with 3 other guitarists, and we tend to get drunk a lot

I wish I never parted ways with my 12-string standard balladeer. But, bills need to be paid *sigh*. They're very good guitars, very solidly built, have that syrupy 12-string feel to them, and I LOVE their necks!

Never played the model you posted, but I'd definatly recommend a balladeer!

the one i posted is $500, and the balladeer is $850 and made in USA.
