The tone on Spheres of Madness is the ultimate heavy metal tone IMO. So today, I looked up what amp Vogg runs through, and I find this picture:

If you've never heard Decapitated, it's probably the best deathmetal band out right now, in the style of Cannibal Corpse/Cryptopsy. While it still has growling vocals, they have a more midrange thing going on than guttural lows, and for some reason it's 10x more tolerable than the previously mentioned bands vocals. Yes, I said tolerable for vocals. While I don't necessarily like the vocals all that much, they fit the music fine, and that's what I'm looking for. :

Does it sound real different from your setup or more similar?
