Do you really want a hybrid or are you really asking for suggestions on a sub-$500 amp that takes pedals well? Are you figuring on a SS power section because you don't want to deal with biasing, etc?

im just looking for a lt;$500 suggestions for a 1x12 combo, tube preferably, but i'm willing to take a hybrid providing that it can be clean and take pedals. with hybrids, i'm not too concerned whether the tube is in the power amp or the preamp sections.

Peavey Classic 30, Peavey ValveKing, new Traynors jup to mind. Old Carvin X100b (EL-34 Version) combo version.

I have a Marshall AVT275 2x12 $400 OBO. DFX doesn't work. Effects loop does. Amp sounds killer besides the DFX thing.

Another amp at my place for sale is a Marshall AVT150 1x12, works perfectly. Looking $475 OBO. Both have the footswitches by the way.

i think i'll have to go try the classic 30, valve king, and the marshall avts next time i go by the stores..... i think i remember a place nearby with a x100b! =D

Hughes and Kettner Attax (blue covered series) hybrid amps with Rockdriver celestions. Best bang for your buck by far.
