Like EMG you can tell what model EMG it is by the logo color. I like the way ibanez does theirs. Thats the coolest way i think. I think the ibanez lookes the best with the 2-3 letters and tell what model they are.
Like the custom custom, it would be cool to just see simply CC in the center, or JB so if you seen some artist thats pulling a tone you like you can better figure out what hes using. If they want to keep it a secret and rub the letters off then what ever but the duncan pups look so similar from model to model its hard to know whats what.
I can tell what two are off the bat: invader, dimebucker
I don't. To be honest, I think that might make the pup look tacky. Kinda like my fridge that says quot;Ice Makerquot; on it, or my car that says quot;ABSquot;. I like people to know that they're Duncans, but they can try to guess which ones.

Leave all words off my guitar. That's what vocals are for.

Classic.
well those who didnt want it could rub em off or somthing.
I like my pickups not to have any logo actually, which works for my SSL-5's, but I'm not gonna take the time to clean quot;quot; off of my Invaders, this way no-one can confuse them with detonators.
Rock On!
i guess thats why we have signature pickups

I would have to agree Artie. Although it would be nice to have a big logo on the back that says quot;JBquot; on it, there's a certain allure to not knowing exactly which model it is..... it's mysterious in a good way. A good ear would be able to tell which pickup it was... maybe. However I like the quot;quot; under the lower coil. That's all I need.
It would be nice if there were something more permanant than a sticker on the bottom designating the model. How many times have people posted ebay auctions or pics of a recently acquired pup trying to determine the model based on the type of lead wire, the magent arrangement or the DC resistance? Those issues would be much more quickly settled if something were permanently stamped or otherwise imprinted somewhere on the pickup. As for putting the model name or number on the top of the pickup...nah. That'd look pretty awful, imo.

I like the mystery of Just knowing that they are SD's.

Dimarzio does this well IMO.....they actually stamp into the metal baseplate....no changing, losing, or faking the designation this way unless someone completely dismembered the pickup.
I am perfectly happy with the
quot;SEYMOUR DUNCANquot; on the one coil adds a touch of class to the look of my guitars
as far as what the model it is just ask ???
I don't know why SD just can't engrave the bottom of their pickups with a model number like dimarzio rather than this cheap cryptic sticker BS.
Snowdog
I really don't care if it's a pickup I'm putting in my guitar and keeping it there. If it's a humbucker with SD on the mag coil so be it...it'll probably get rubbed off anyway.
