When i had them in a gibson MIII it wasn't right but now it is a dream .
59: nice definition , sustain forever , bite when needed , very singing with overdrive and wonderfull clean even not taped .
custom:very fat , chunky, with attack , not icepeaky like custom5 on high string wich are fatter . But the only drawback is the custom is less clear on low strings and harmonics here are less easy , so you have to clean the low end with kind of OD-s1 . Overall a very balanced pickup .
Any way this guitar RS530 have been modified by a previous owner who added a single coil in the middle with a on-off toogle ( in the place of the tone pot ) and i have here a classic strat stack neck model , alnico2 , and when i put it on it brings more definition and less distortion ( more vintage tone ) , add mids and clean the low end of both 59' and tb5 .
