I have a 4 x 12 I'm putting new speakers in and using thicker gauge wire, ect. and I was wondering if the input jacks on the back of the cab should be replaced? Will it help the tone? The cab wasn't top of the line when I bought it so it could be a cheaper jack.
If it doesn't work or feels like there's not a secure connection when you plug it in, then change it. If it's working and feels solid when you plug it in, leave it.
so they're all pretty much the same, right? I was wondering if some were made of more conductive metals, ect.
Thanks
i always wondered-if you use great quality speaker cable, but the jack is cheap- then you get the same quality sound as if you had a crappy cable.
But typically jacks have no resistance at all so it doesnt really matter unless that jack in particular really sucks.
