Guys....I Love my Vox Valvetronix head and I normally run it through it's matching Vox AD 2X12 cab...This cab has the Neo-Dog quot;Neodyiumquot; Celestion speakers in a closed back cab...

These speakers project very well,but I'm starting to feel like they lack the lows and they are a bit too crisp overall...The speakers are tight,crisp,and a bit thin in the lows with my single coil guitars..When I Plug this head into my Marshall V30 4x12 slant cab,I'm in heaven,but I can't always carry a 4x12 around and I prefer the 2x12 for our gigs....

I want another set of 8 ohm 2x12s to try in this Vox cab and before I buy a set of Celestion V30s,I'm wondering if there might be another or better choice? I Like the tightness and projection,but I also need warmer,less peaky highs,and strong lows from my speakers...The G12H-30s intrique me,but they are only 30 watt rated speakers and my head is 60 watts per side....I've also been confused with all of the Emminence speakers available for my needs?Other speakers I'm reading about would be the 60 watt Hellatones on the Avatar sight and the Weber ceramics....Way too many choices and I'm overwhelmed with it!

from : localhost/love V30s but maybe I'd like something that is a bit less harsh in the highs? I could take 2 of my V30s out of my Marshall cab and try them,but I don't want to hack into my un-touched 4x12 cab...

The cab is closed back and I think I'm looking for a clean,warm,BF Fender speaker tone vs a British Marshall midrange tone that cuts well but isn't shrill in the highs....Follow me?

Any ideas guys?

Hi John, I love Vintage 30's too, but I like the G12H30's a little more because they have more bass, more mids and smoother highs. Sounds to me like what you're looking for. Lew

I have the Hellatone 30, and it's great in my DRRI, but I don't know about your power issue - I guess you might have to go the 60 watt route.

Supposedly, the Hellatone's are warmer out of the box.

Hi John, don't know if this will help but I'm running an avatar 2X with one vintage 30 and one G12H and am happy. I'd only be curious to AB it with 2 G12H's. As is, the highs are smooth enough and it cuts well, but choosing between the two I'd definately go G12H. To me they are just smoother and don't really give up anything to the vintage 30, but I'm digging the combo.

Thanks guys...I'm wondering on the 60 watts of total power handling of 2 G12H-30s,but I like these speakers also? If I really crank up my Vox,would the G12H-30s be safe and will they still retain some headroom at clean loud volume?

No one listens to me on this but the excellent U.S.A. made Eminence V12's handle 120 watts.
