Hi I basically would like to know the general tonal properties of these string brands.

Dr Tite
D'Addario EXL
GHS Boomers
Ernie Ball

also any of these brands feel tighter compared to the others of the same gauge?

I am looking for something around this gauge: 11, 14, 18, 28, 38, 48 49 0r 50

I've tried the GHS, D'Addario, and Ernie Ball strings. To my ears the GHS strings are brighter, somewhat 'louder' string than the D'addario's. The D'addarios are little bit mellower in brightness compared to the GHS. I like to use the D'addarios on my guitars with EMG's... The Ernie Ball's I tried serval times, but I really didn't care for. They seemed to go dead much more quickly than the others...
