Anyone here ever encountered, played or experienced the Gittler Guitar from the late 70's at all?

And the strange thing was, this thing came out BEFORE Steinberger! I think I'd have a devil ofa time plying something with no body to it at all.
I remember Andy Summers playing one in one of the Police videos.
They were actually considered works of art. The one in the picture isn't one of the originals. The first ones had no body, only a bar that ran the length of the guitar. I've never played one, but the designer's goal was to create an instrument that had only bare necessities; ie, frets, tuning machines. The pickups were specially designed and were hexaphonic. Each string's volume could be adjusted. Andy Summers is shown with one on the quot;Synchronicity IIquot; video.

I once thught of doing a headless but in an acoustic version (as a beater guitar). My idea for the tuners appears to be close but I thought it was too simple too actually work out.
I think I may have a summer project after all
