So, i've been trying to figure out what to do for a project in my AP Physics class. Right now we're doing electronics, so i figured something with amps would be fun.

I know the fender amp field guide (has schematics for all the old, relatively simply tweed amps...

How feasible would it be to actually but all the resistors and capacitors and stuff, and wire it together, to make an amp?? I'm sure it wouldn't be anything like an actual old tweed amp, but is this a possible project, or something that would be way too hard and way too expensive??

There are a number of kits out there you can look at.

Alos Rich S. is big on the 18Watt.com forum you might check with him or that site.

Or if you wanted a smaller job, a convincing sounding fuzz box is a pretty managable afternoon project.

But see, the thing is, i don't think i'd be allowed to use a kit, i'd be just buying stuff and soldering parts together and mounting them to whatever, instead of getting all the peices from a kit and soldering them to a chassis thats already been made...

I believe Scott's built a couple of amps recently. He should know. I'm not sure if they were kits or not.
