I just purchased a Fender American Hot Rodded Series Double Fat Strat with a quot;'59 Humbuckerquot; pickup in the Neck Position and a quot;Pearly Gatesquot; pickup in the Bridge Position.
In order to get the complete decal off the new guitar, I had to remove the pickguard, and in doing so the two pickups came completely off.
Anyway, I got the decal off and put the guitar back together, but now the pickups are not at the correct height, whatever that height should be. I thought I would just adjust the height of the pickups until I got the maximum volume, but that is very difficult to determine.
Does anybody know if there is some guideline for the distance between the strings and the pickup assembly?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Regards,
John Golden
The heights fender sets on their guitars is here from : localhost/www.fender.com/support/setup/stratsetup.php.
Seymour says 3/32quot; for the bridge, match the neck to taste for volume. FAQ
A US quarter is 1/16quot; thick.
Thats a really nice guitar. If this pup height thing is a bother, there's plenty of other stuff that might be a hassle/bother to get right. I'd take it to a reputable tech and get it set up REALLY nice. Neck , nut, saddle, intonate, pup balancing etc. It's worth it.
