...and I will NOT be keeping them. Here's a list of the glaring errors I found:
*Excess clear buildup in the neck pocket, neck mounting holes, output jack, and the beveled area where the cavity cover sits.
*String through holes are very uneven both horizontally and spacing-wise.
*No holes drilled to run pickup wires to control cavity.
*Bridge mounting holes not drilled as I requested.
*Pickup routes are horrible, they are far too wide for mounting rings and can still be seen.
*Two random holes (drill press errors?) located near the neck mount holes on the body. Since it's an Ibanez All Access joint, there will be no plate and the holes would still be visible.
*There are also two or three small dings in the finish on the front near the control holes.
Now, onto the neck:
*Excess glue near the truss rod adjustment, it was not sanded down or cleaned up any other way.
*Gouges in the fretboard and on the edges by the fret ends, probably from files.
*At least two poorly seated frets, at least two that are immediately obvious.
*There are a few places that you can see glue coming up around the fret onto the fretboard.
*Neck mount holes aren't drilled in the neck as I requested.
*Due to all the excess clear in the neck pocket, the neck can't sit flush against the body closest to the neck pickup. In fact it's about 1/4quot; away, so it will never intonate correctly.
*Some kind of stain on the ebony on the bass side of the 20th fret.Needless to say, I'll be returning the parts for a full refund, and refuse to pay for return shipping or any restocking fee if he has one. Pics soon to follow.
Well we kind of knew this was coming bro. Sorry you had to experience it firsthand though. Let everyone know not to deal with this guy. Put it on the JCF too. Let's hope he's not the kind of jerkoff where you are going to have to get a lawyer to get your money back. I'm interested to know what you paid for this stuff. Shoot me a pm.
All the pictures can be seen here:
from : localhost/photobucket.com/albums/v663/F...?sc=1amp;multi=10I also forgot to mention that the cavity cover was poorly cut and can't even sit flush with the body because of all the excess clear built up.
i saw your posts on the kramer forum too...it was linked from the JCF lol. anyway, what about the input jack that kammo1 mentioned being too close to the strap button location? was that also a problem as it looked to be in the pics? i'm sorry you had to deal with this and i hope it works out for you in the end!

-MikeYeah, looking at it now I bet they are too close together. Just chalk it up .
OMFG dude, that totally sux. TOTALLY!
Where's the thread on the JFC? I can't find it And that sucks man... I hope that guy will be reasonable.
Dude, that guy sucks!!! I wouldnt even call him a builder by any stretch of the imagination! I cant belive someone would send out work that was that shoddy! Piss poor!
Those pics about make me laugh. Don't some people have any self criticism? What is the name of that company?

I wonder if he actually thinks he does good work.

After emailing him a few weeks ago saying if I quot;didn't like the parts 110% I'd be returning them for a refundquot;, he said that everything was looking great, and that he didn't think I'd have any issues.
Damn man, it's too bad that he screwed up like he did. That was shaping up to be a hell of a good looking chunk of wood if the 'luthier' (and I use that term loosely) had been at least somewhat competent.

Hahahaha!
(I hope that this doesn't make me look too much like WFD)
After seeing the references to Laz Gajic (Kammo1) and the JCF I´m a bit confused: This isn´t something that LAZ made, or?? He´s known for absolutely top notch work like TO´s neck....
Seriously, where did you have these parts made/ Who made them?

These were NOT made by Laz, he only chimed in with comments upon seeing pictures of the work. These were ordered from
www.monsterguitarshop.com
Well, he said he'd refund my money, or if I wanted would let me keep the parts and do a partial refund. I'm really not interested in that, as there's still a LOT of work that needs to be done.
For one, I don't even know how to go about drilling the hole to run pickup wires to the control cavity, I thought that was something done before gluing the two pieces of the body together?

First, sorry to hear of your bad luck. I can't imagine how frustrating that must be.
Anyway, I think the wire runs you're talking about are drilled through from the neck pocket. I know it's that way on my ibanez... I don't know that I've ever paid attention to that on my other necks, though. I guess I'll have to take a look next time I've a neck off.
Fretfire, if you need any tips to help you out feel free to PM me bro!
I suppose I should find out how much of a partial refund he's thinking and go from there. There's a LOT of work that still needs to be done to make these parts useable, to both the body and neck .
I'd really almost rather snag a used Ibanez JS600 and do a few mods with parts I was going to use on this project, then sell off the rest.
