Anybody use 'em? I'm thinking of picking up a set for my Strat, and wanna know if they really make any difference.

I use them they diffinetly increase sustain and i noticed my sound was slightly warmer aswell. I havnt broken i string either since ive had them. Any one installed one of their nuts before? I wanna maybe put one in.

I use them and love them. I had the guitar's frets, nut and saddles setup prior to installing the Graphtechs so I really wasn't breaking strings before ... but the vintage style stamped steel saddles chewed the living crap out of my hand. We're talking lots of cuts from the allen heads and the saddles them selves ...

I did notice that my guitar did get louder and more acoutic feeling when I switched to the Graphtechs. Personally I'm happy with the switch.

There's a number of people here using them including GJ as far as I know

I have replaced the saddles on almost ALL my guitars with Graphite. I was breaking a lot of strings. I have them on my SG,335,LP 2 out of 3 strats. One strat I also put a graphite nut with sperzel locking tuners and when I do use the wammy it does not go out of tune! I have only replaced the saddles when it was necessary. The graphite is the way to go. I did not notice much difference in tone, but the fact that I have not broken a string on any of these guitars speaks for itself. Go buy a set, you won't be disapointed

I've been busting a lot of strings on my Strat..and someone at the local store recommended them..what do they typical run $-wise?

from : localhost/just did a search this should give you an idea of the cost! I use the total graphite ones. I have never used the ones that are inserts into stainless. I don't know if the extra dollars would be worth it. The string savers work fine for me!

Thanks for the link. Not bad considering what it will save ya in string costs.Think someone technically challenged like me could put them in? (seriously)

(seriously)Just make sure you get the right ones for your bridge. You will have to reset the action and intonate the guitar, but that is pretty simple. Good luck!

Where in NY are you?

I put them on my highway 1 strat.
My ear is not sensitive enough to tell the difference sound-wise. But i haven't broken 1 string since.

They're one of the most effective improvements that you can do to your instrument.
