Any preferences here?
Are you talking aged vs aged A2 vs A5s? Or regular magnets?
Or do you mean Antiquity I (Alnico 2) vs II (Alnico 5)?
I mean the Antiquity humbucker with A2 compared to swapping the A2 with an A5. I presume the 3d detail would move from the mids to the lows and highs? Your thoughts?
If you're talking single coils, I prefer the A5 Antiquity Surfer for the neck and middle and the A2 Antiquity Texas Hot Custom for the bridge. But I also use all three A5 Surfers in one Strat too. I like the bright, clear, lively tone of A5 for the neck and middle and smoother, midrangier, more touch sensitive tone of A2 for soloing on the bridge pickup.
When it comes to humbuckers I prefer the opposite: A2 for the neck because it has a little less bass than A5 and that helps me get a tone that's a little less muddy at higher, more overdriven rock/blues volumes.
For the bridge humbucker I can go either way: my two faves are the A2 Custom Custom and the A5 59B or 59 Trembucker.

Well what do you think an Antiquity bucker with a Ceramic Magnet would sound like?
