I've got a 514CE on the way and just curious if any other owners are lurking about.
Yep, I picked up a jewel model about 5 years ago, love it.

Just on a side note, I've been messing with the T5's at a couple of different store, at first I wasn't that impressed but it really depends on what kind of amp you play them through. I didn't like how they sounded through the mesa lonestar or really any mesa amps in the store, I played it through a genz benz diablo and it sounded awesome!!! I would love to have a guitar that can do a great acoustic sound and then switch into a Les Paul crunch, the T5 is close - I personally find the guitar played through an overdriven amp still sound very single coilish, maybe the next generation will have what I'm looking for.
i have a 814ce, ns62, and ab1
Nice 714CE Curly! I'd love to have that thing!
I had an older 410 for a long time, and loved that guitar. I love my D-28, but sometimes I wish I could swap it for Taylor's best rosewood backed dreadnaught, the 810. Taylor necks are SO nice, even from the factory, but if they're setup even better, they're unbeatable.

Wow. Extremely pretty guitar right there.
FWIW, when I looked at different models, I liked the 514 CE almost as much as the 714, but I'm just a little partial to rosewood.

I was just checking out the specs and think I would've gone with the 714CE actually. The situation is that about a month ago I was playing my step fathers Taylor 514CE, and being the first Taylor I had played, I was completely blown away. My Mom decides to be EXTREMELY generous and orders me one as an Xmas present. There's worse quandries I could be in!
I bought a new Taylor 710 CE with a Fishman system in 2003, right when the stores closed out their Fishman models as the Expression System pickup was introduced. I love it!
Earlier this year, I bought a second 710 with the ES--and took it back. The ES just sucked, and no one could get it to sound decent. The acoustic tone was wonderful, but I could not live with that ES.
A lot of people like them; but if I decide to get another Taylor--it will not have ES.
Check out the Acoustic Guitar Forum. They have a section for Taylor fans.

I played as many acoustics as I could lay my hands on and just like the feel and tone of Taylor's better. Ended up ordering a 314CE, only without the electronics, a couple of years ago. Never regretted it for a minute!

I have an '01 Taylor 514ce. The guitar, does everything I want it to do. I'm so satisfied with it, that I have very little acoustic GAS!

My dad owns an 810 model I do believe. Great sound, the only thing I don't like is the huge body on it, which is why I generally play his Larivee.
2005 712 owner, and strangely enough that is the first steel string acoustic I've ever owned (I always used classicals). It is a great guitar, especially for the fingerstyle/slack key stuff that I play. I purposely didn't get the ES on it because of all the bad stuff I've heard about it, and also because I don't know a single musician in my town that gigs with it.
I've got a 414. was a display model and picked it up for a good price. Doesn't have a cutaway or electronics but I just use it for recording. I think it was about 8 or 9 years old when I got it so it was all quot;warmed upquot; for me. Lovely guitar...
I've got a Big Baby, it's not a high-end model by any means but it sounds/plays nice.
310CE owner right here. LOVE that guitar.
i'll never forget the first time i played a Taylor...it was a 12 string...500 series...i was sooooooooo blown away...it was in a store that had a soundproof acoustic room and man that thing just sounded absolutely heavenly!!!! i will join this club one day!!! so crisp and clean but still warm and resonant...they definitely have their own sound and it's goooooooooooood! now my favorite local shop carries them and i play one every single time i go in there! which is about 2 or 3 times a month...they have T5s in there as well...i'm not even gonna pick one of those up till i know i can afford it...i know the torture would push me to the edge...i might hold the store up...lol!
I've got one of last years Fall Limited's. A 312CE L7. Awesome sounding and playing guitar. Taylor goes the extra mile to make sure their customers are happy. Artie Traum did a clinic here last week and Taylor sent two techs with him to do free string changing/setups for all Taylor owners who brought their Taylor's to the store in the aftenoon. Enjoy your Taylor!
I'm surprised at how many Taylor owners stepped forward! The Taylor will hopefully arrive at the same time as the Gamp;L. I'll keep you posted how the Taylor works out.
