It just changes the tension on each string separately. Looks like you adjust the offset with the allen screws. So, instead of retuning say, you E string down to D, you just flip the switch.
I think having an extra guitar would be easier.
Edit: ...and cheaper, if you buy Agile's!
If I could use it with a bigsby, and it wasn't black, I'd probably get it
