Hey all, noticed there has been a real lack of talk regarding the duncan 7 string pickups. I recently bought an Ibanez RG1527, and i must say the stock pickups in it are noisy and lack chord defination. Currently thinking of duncans to throw in. More or less figured i'd like to have either the SD 59-7 in the neck, but for the bridge, having a problem deciding. Personally for the 6 stringers i like the custom custom in the bridge, but since they don't have this model for 7s, will the duncan custom in the bridge cut it?
Really would like to have that midrange, smooth highs, singing lead tone for instrumental ballad work.
Hope you guys can offer some insight. Thanks.

The custom shop told me that they would make me a 7 string custom custom for the same price as a 7 string custom plus $20 US.
I havent used the Duncan Custom 7. I have used the 7 string versions of the Invader and Distortion. I wouldnt count out the Distortion. I find it to be actually real versatile and pretty even sounding. It doesnt have the boosted mids and clipped highs and bass like a custom custom. I have no problems with clean tones out of it granted I probably like my cleans a bit fatter than most people.
Cool. Thanks guys!
