Is it just me or do you guys ever get the jones for something you've never even played?
That's it with me for the Firebird.
I've never played or even seen a Firebird amp; yet I want one...BADLY!!!
Ever since I fell in love with the music of Johnny Winter, I've wanted a Firebird.No real point to this thread....just drooling out loud!!!!
I fight Firdbird GAS all the damn time...my old Drummer bought one and never plays it...I've tried to but it several times but no luck!
I've also had GAS for a Gibson Barney Kessle for about 10 years now, and I have never played one of them...but I HAVE TO HAVE ONE

Yep...I love them, I hate that most if them have a little bitty neck but I could deal with that...they feel so damn good on a strap and the tone is just to die for. I recorded a few tracks with my last band with my drummers Firebird and the other guitar players AC-30...THAT was some kick ass tone!
I think if I was to move to the Atlanta area, you would get me in a lot of trouble!!!!

And don't say II !!! I can't remember all the different numbers...in Firdbirds there was a I, III, V, and VII...
I know that a I only has one pickup, III's, and V's both have 2 pickups but different trim and a VII has 3 pickups and I know there are other differences I just can't remember what they are. As for II and IV, those are Thunderbird Basses...

Yeah, I like the one with a bridge pickup and tom but w/e that's custom lol.
Anyway, the firebird is gibson's fastest guitar by far imo. I picked one up at guitar center and it just flowed from my hands haha, then neck is tiny compared to the huge SG neck and feels sooo goood. I love the firebird
I'll have to try one again. I played one a while back at a GC (probably why I was disappointed) and the body felt awkward. I was drawn to it obviously because of its looks... I think it's one of the coolest looking guitars ever made! I dig Gibson single coils and their P90s and minihums kick (even though a lot of people will dismiss them).
