Seems I heard this somewhere around here. Is this true?

I have a A2Pro neck and a C5 bridge and am thinking of swapping the mags.

Thanks.

Anybody?

I would think that might be correct.

and I believe your C5 would then become a Custom Custom.

Never tried it, but keep in mind that the only pickups that are exactly the same except for the magnet are the custom series. An A5 Alnico 2 Pro might be in the ballpark of a Jazz, but I doubt it would sound exactly like it.

It would actually be cool to me if it was somewhere in-between a Jazz and '59.

For what it's worth, an A2 Jazz does not sound exactly like an Alnico 2 Pro. It's sort of halfway between an Alnico 2 Pro and a Pearly Gates.

...So an A5 Pro would be weaker than a stock A5 Jazz?

I happen to suspect a full shred may possibly be a C5 will hex screws for various reasons.

Another interesting topic, I happen to suspect that alot of Duncans share the same coils except a few pickups, the Pearly gates, Scremin demon, dimebucker, and there may be another I am leaving out. What do all of these pickups have in common? The price!(about $90 a pop compared to $70 or so) They are all unique unto themselves also. They without a doubt do not share coils with any other pickup. Makes me think.

Look at all the neck pickups. Most of them are in the 7.5 range. The Jazz, APH, full shred, Invader and again there may be one or two I am leaving out. Its kind of hard for me to belive they are all completly different coils. Again, unique coils probally cost a bit more to produce as opposed to mass produced coils. Makes me think even more.

The only pickup that dosent fit those theorys is the Distortion neck. Interesting?

Theodie, according to your theory, would you also suspect that a 59 with an A2 would be identical to a potted Seth Lover?

Possibly. With the seth you are paying for the cover also. I personally wouldnt doubt it they would be about the same with the exception of magnet, potting, and cover coming standard on the Seth.

Aren't all thos components the same on the seth as the 59? ....maybe we should get back on topic (A5P=Jazz)

And the consensus is?....

Does anyone know what the component differences are? Do you mean they use different guage? Don't they both use enamel coating?
