I recently started playing again after about twenty five years. My son started playing after buying a Strat wanna be for 10 bucks. I sold all of my guitars when I bought a fishing boat years ago.
After going to the local music stores and seeing the price of the Gibsons and Fenders I was speechless. I just about gave mine away...
I recently bought an ESP Ron Wood Tele. with a 59 classic humbucker at the neck and a SD hot rails at the bridge. This guitar sounds and plays better than any Fender Tele. I ever played. What a beauty..
I did buy a Fender American Deluxe Strat. Nothing like a good Strat. I took the Lace Sensor puquot;s out and replaced them with a sd JB junior at the bridge and Noiseless puquot;s in the mid and bridge positions.. It sounds pretty good but I'm still not satisified..Does anybody have any suggestions, I've been out of the loop for a long time....HELP
I also removed the Floid Rose Locking tremelo and replaced it with a two point Fender tremelo with graphite saddles. If anyone is intrested in the bridge or puquot;s give me a shout... and mabe a suggestion ot two... Jersey Devil

Welcome to the forum and welcome back to guitar playing, JD!

If you're using a JB Jr in the bridge, you might wanna just go with a triple of 'em. A friend of mine has that in his Strat, and it sounds KILLER. You also might wanna go with Hot Rails, which is my middle/neck pickup of choice.

Good Call Ben!

Another thing to consider if you want to keep a single coil tonality is the Classic stacks. They are made similiar to the Fender Noisless, but sound much more pure.

The Duckbuckers are another good choice. They are humbucking but still have the strat quack, but not exactly a single coil.

I like the Alnico 2 Pros they have A2 magnets and are very smooth and full sounding.

For other bucker options look at the Lil 59's and lil sceamin demon for the neck and middle.

Welcome to the Forum!
