Seems like forever since I posted about my latest guitar project, the TOC-2 (Twilight Odyssey Custom). Since then I have decided that I also wanted to replace the neck in my '79 Strat after seeing Laz Gajic's amazing Charvel San Dimas style neck. So, these are going to be the TOC-2 and the TOC-3 when all is said and done!

All of the work is once again being done by Laz.

TOC - 2

The body is a Wayne Rock Legend, DeMartini python skin.
Body is alder, chrome OFR. The bridge pickup will be a Cold Sweat (burnt chrome cover); neck pickup will be a Trilogy Suite; middle is blank.

The replacement neck is 1 piece maple with an ebony fingerboard, 6100 fret wire, 1-3/4quot; nut width. Headstock is reverse J Frog. 22 frets, 14quot; radius, with a semi-beefy profile based off of the J Frog neck profile.
TOC-3

The body is a 1979 Stratocaster hard-tail. 2 tone burst, solid ash, VERY heavy.
The replacement neck for this guitar is very similar to my other Gajic necks: 1-3/4quot; nut width, 14quot; radius, 1 piece maple neck, 6100 fret wire, reverse headstock, etc etc. However, for this neck I wanted a flame maple fingerboard as well as a a flame veneer on the headstock. Also, the nut is going to be bone.

I mailed my original Strat neck to Laz so that he could replicate the headstock shape and neck heel precisely.
Necks should be leaving the shop soon. Watch this space for more details!

That Wayne is really nice as is, and is is gonna be even nicer with that new neck....

Cold Sweat should flat out RAWK in that guitar.

Question: What are those red things on the Floyd by the fine tuners?

It's a reflection from my T-shirt on the nice, shiny chrome.

Is that strat going to have a reverse headstock?

Very nice. I like the reverse headstock look on that. Can't wait to see the finished products.

Ben, those necks look like some really high-quality stuff. Can't wait to read about the progress.

The snake skin is a wicked paint job! Any chance the headstock will match?

No, the headstock will be matte black.

Dude theyre gonna be killer. Im lookin forward to seeing the finished jobs. Hope all goes good and you have a pair of dream guitars!

I can't wait to see pictures of the Strat, you don't see very many with reverse headstocks.

Ben, the 6100 fret wire. How does that compare to super jumbo, jumbo, etc. Is it somewhat thinner?
