Hi all!
a while ago i posted a thread regarding a wolfgang style guitar and was recomended the blues trem(b) amp; alnico pro(n)..
since then a few things have changed regarding the guitar...
the body will be a thick slab of 1 - 3/4quot; mahagony(african if it matters to anyone...) with a telecaster-ish shape , instead of the wolfgangs basswood body , it will still have a maple top, around 1/2quot;.
the bridge will not be a floating one...instead it will be a fixed hard-tail strat style.
neck will not be maple either, instead its gonna be made of a lovely piece of macassar ebony...so will the fingerbaord.
neck is bolt on, with a 25.5quot; scale.

so while it isnt as theoretically as bright as a TRUE wolfgang is, i was still thinking about the blues/APH combo...
i m into vai and satriani(but already got a shred-machine ibanez), also into warren haynes' tone (but already got a prealy gates fitted les paulish guitar...)
basically what i want i a WARM, FULL and ROUND neck sound...i actually like it a bit bassy (love the pearlies in the neck position but now looking for something a bit weaker,i guess)...and a bridge pickup that distorts nicely(nothing too extreme), reatains its clarity even when the gain is crancked up without being harsh or trebly, and still be punchy enough and cut through...

i cant use the 21 days exchange policy since it doesnt apply here in Israel
so any advice would be highly appreciated!

thanks,
Udi.

nobody?

The APH/Blues should still work, as the Ebony neck will be somewhat bright.

an ebony neck is still gonna be plenty bright. i think the aph/blues combo is still a great choice for big warm sweet tone
