Okay, I'm not too keen to upgrade my amp as I'm purchasing a new guitar and plenty of new stomp-boxes in the near future (and it's not a problem to use the amp through a PA-system, right?)
However, I need a footswitch so I can switch between the clean and the dirt channel. Is it possible to use this or this for my purpose, considering I got inputs for quot;CD in amp; emulated line outquot; and quot;Emulated headphonesquot; on my amp...?

I want to be able to use the clean channel for verses, exempli gratia, and then a little more gain (but not much) through my dirt-channel on my amp on chorus, and then something distorted when soloing. I search for a sound a la Frusciante in RHCP.
Should I then look for a overdrive or a distortion pedal? Could one of Stratdeluxer's pedals do the job?

im pretty sure the MG15 dosen't have the channel footswitch feature man, the jack would be called 'channel footswitch'

It took a little reading but the MG15 does not have remote switching for the 2 channels. I bet a deceint tech could install a tip/sleeve jack where the channel switching switch is but I'm not positive.

A tube screamer or OD pedal into the clean channel will get you the pushed tones you are looking for.

Thats not a problem using that through a pa, but that amp is pretty low end and a beginner amp. It may not sound incredible through a pa, well you could be a great guitarist and make sound good too. I would suggest you save up money for good ss or tube amp. It would be a better to invest in an amp instead of stomp boxes that could just be easily bought later. I just got a new amp about a month and a half ago, and I'm impressed with how much better it sounds than my old fender 15g solid state practice amp. I noticed that many cheaper amps around $100 have very harsh distortion and does not sound very good. You could also look into pickups if your getting a new guitar for just a tone change.

Uhm, ok. Then I will re-consider again. As for the pickup-thing; I'll have Alnico Pro2-pus in the guitar I'll purchase. Don't think it'll be necessary to replace them for my use...
But thank you all for nice answers

ey, lite ash tele?

good choice, they look like kick ass instruments!

Yeah I know! It looks beautiful also. But I have to try it in NY before decision...
