I played one a couple of years ago, but can't really remember all of the details of how nice it really was. Does anyone have experience with BM's guitars?
I21
I played an early one years ago, and I think it had a composite neck or body. Either way, it was pretty dead sounding. I imagine the newer all-wood ones would be a major improvement...
A friend of mine uses a BM bass as his primary gigging 5-string. It's a remarkable instrument, especially given how little he paid for it. and there was a kid who used to come into the shop I worked at who had a Brian Moore. I never got a chance to play that one, but it was a fine looking and sounding instrument to be sure.
I don't know what model I played, but the one BM I tried was FANTASTIC! Of course, it retailed at over $1G.
Calling Hoss, report to the BM thread. Calling Hoss...
I'm not the only one cracking a smile every time I read quot;BM,quot; right?
RIGHT?
well, i really like mine..

My only gripe with mine (I'm not going to use the initials...lol) is the thin neck. I like a big, chunky neck and it has a thin, slender neck. It was such a great deal that I couldn't pass it up, and I can live with the thin neck based on what I payed for it. As for tone, it has a JB in the bridge in an AP2 in the neck and I love it.
the thin neck is what i like, since i have small hands- i can't use thicker necks...the JB is ok, but i might switch it out for a CC...
mine is actually semi-hollow, and has some wacko electronics that i picked out.
i had an i1...very, very well made guitar...just beautitful...sounding like a dream, but like what has been said...the neck was a little thin for me...it's not super thin like a wizard or anything...but not as thick as i like em...i could have lived with it...but i needed the money so i sold it...actually...captaincrunch another forum member bought it.
this was her.....quot;Gingerquot;i sold it along time ago...i can't remembe when, but jeez i didn't realize i've been without an electric guitar so long until now?!!?
I was the guitar tech for the main UK importer about eight years ago.
They were nice then, but I had some design issues with them. The company had a very laid back attitude...
What were the things you didn't like? Have they changed them on current models? I certainly agree some ideas are strange, and there are somethings I would change if I ordered another custom guitar..but nothing structurally that is a dealbreaker. I will say, they are easy to work with.
I've got an i2 and I love it to death! It looks, plays, and sounds amazing. I like the thin neck, in fact I find it to be one of , if not the most playable axes I've ever laid my hands on.

Pics? Have you done any modding to it yet?
Where are the non custom guitars made?
korea, i think...
Yeah, the quot;iquot; series guitars are made in Seoul, Korea. Word has it that they go through the plant in New York for QC inspections and adjustments before distribution, though.
i'll be the first one to admit that where it was made did enter my mind...but i challenge anyone to find a MIK that is better!?
do you have any local shops that carry them Jump?
I had a Custom Shop C55 amp; it was a wonderful, versatile guitar. Very comfortable sitting or standing.
I swapped out the stock A2P neck/JB bridge for a Pearly Gates neck amp; Custom Custom bridge....AWESOME. Sounded great on all 7 options. 5-way switch with a pull/push pot. The PGn/CCb split very well.
The only quot;knockquot; I had was the fretboard was super flat...great shredder if that's your thing.
New, they cost a lot of dough (the American ones) amp; there is ZERO resale value...not sure why because they really are great guitars.
If you get the chance to play one, I think you'll really enjoy it
yeah...definitely pick up one used if you're able to try one and like it...they can be had muuuuuch cheaper!
There is a place in town, Mills Music, that carries them. But the last time that I saw one in this particular store was when they opened a couple of years ago. I may have to make a trip over to their store in Tacoma to have a looksee.
